The Problem Is Our Focus

The problem is that there are too many stereotypes in this world,

Of what we should or need to be,

Instead of focusing our life on what should matter,

We focus on things that are temporary instead,

We focus on things that shouldn’t matter,

We focus on things that only last so long,

We put so many pressures on ourselves,

When we could live such an easier life,

By just following His word,

By just following the path He sets,

By just following His will,

Instead of worrying about how much money we have,

Instead of worrying about what we look outside,

Instead of worrying about what we don’t have,

Instead of worrying about wanting more,

We should instead be grateful for everything we have,

We should instead be grateful for what we have been given,

We should instead be grateful for the blessings we are given,

We should instead be grateful that we have the things we do,

So many of us are so conceited not realizing,

How many people are suffering in the world today?

How many people are fighting just to have a meal today?

How many people are worrying about where they can sleep?

We take so much for granted especially those of us,

Who live in countries where we have freedoms,

That we take for granted every day,

We moan and we groan,

Wishing we got more of our own way,

Instead of changing our focus on those around us,

And seeing things through another lens,

And looking inside someone else’s eyes,

And seeing the world through their eyes,

And seeing how different the world could be,

If we didn’t have everything always handed to us,

Would we than change our focus finally?

Would we see the true problem?

The problem is our focus,

The focus on those things that do not matter,

The focus on things that don’t last an eternity,

Instead of focusing on relationships,

Instead of focusing on helping others,

Instead of worrying about how to be there for others,

Instead of finding a way to save,

We go about our days worry only,

About how we look,

The clothes we wear,

How much we weigh,

How much we make,

How much we have,

And what can we gain next,

But it doesn’t have to be that way,

Instead we can give our whole life,

To His plan,

To His will,

To His glory,

To His honor,

And truly focus on the good,

Of the world and save,

And save the souls,

Save the world,

Save the people,

That matter to Him.
