Volleyball

The net is up and the sun is bright, The team is ready to spike and serve, The ball goes back and forth among the two teams, There is encouragement remarks shooting back and forth, Between each team, Points are made on each side, The scores are close as time goes on, The sun is beating down, Everyone is getting hot, But no one seems to pay attention, Although the game is for fun, The once a year tournament still means a lot, To those that are playing, They can be competitive, Although good players, Sunburns are plenty, By the time the rounds are over, But joy and fun was had, On the day of independence, When the nets are up and the sun is bright, When the teams play, And the sound of good game is heard, Another tournament is over, Until the next year, When it will be time for the yearly tournament, At the church where I come to enjoy and love, Because even though volleyball is wonderful fun, The people and friends you make, Th

The Bald Eagle

Flying above the clouds, Flying in the sky, Expanding their wings looking for prey, They are magnificent if you have ever seen, They stand for freedom, Even though their numbers are few, They still soar above, With their white heads that crown them, The strength that they portray every day, The freedom they represent in the United States, Living in the tops of mountains, Living where no one can harm, He alone through many years of conspiracy, And through many years of hardship, Will forever be seen as the symbol of power and authority, But the numbers of them are dwindling, The future might not be too bright, But the bald eagle will still continue, To fly above the clouds, Fly in the sky, Expanding their wings and soaring, Showing their magnificent ways even now, Because they will continue, They will show the strength, The strength we could admire, As they continue flying above the clouds.

Are We Heading To Doomsday

Are we heading to doomsday? Are we letting our lives just pass away? Are we letting our moments matter? Are we giving everything we have to each and every day? When will we use our passion for what is right? Instead of using it for what is wrong? When are we going to see how many people are counting, On those of us that are called? There is never a promise of tomorrow, Our days are few in comparison, We live our lives, We make plans for the future, We make plans for our dreams, We make plans for all the tomorrows, But do we make the plan for eternity? One day we will give an account, When it comes to the end, One day we will give our story, And will say if we helped those around us, Did we give our testimony? Did we give God a chance to work in people’s hearts? Did we stand up for what is right in the world? Or did we back down when we felt we had enough? Are we heading to doomsday? Are we heading to the depths of being without God?
