You will always have a part of my heart
No matter where our lives lead,
Even though we are no longer,
Because of my pride and greed,
I have to let you go,
Even if it breaks a part of me,
The pain is beyond great,
But true friends always know,
That even if you are not a part of my life,
You will always be in my mind,
Apologies aren’t always enough,
To earn a forgiveness,
Sometimes it is time,
And sometimes you got to let go,
I will always still be here for you,
Even if words are never spoken again,
When you truly love and care,
When you’ve been through it all,
You know when the time comes,
No matter how it makes me feel,
I know that it comes to that point,
That I must let you go,
Let you free from me,
No matter how much it might kill me,
At least a deep part of me,
That has always been a part of you,
So many years we have shared,
Memories that will never fade,
But I know that I must take this step,
Even if it hurts the fiber of my being,
Even if it hurts my very soul,
If I could turn back the clock I would,
If I could undo the words I would,
If I knew the right way to make it right again,
If I knew the right words,
But there is nothing else I can do,
I must let you go,
Even if it hurts the depth of me,
Knowing how much you mean to me in my life,
And how much you always will,
Just know that no matter where you go,
No matter what happens,
I will always be here,
Even if I am not in your life,
I will always care and adore you,
Because you were my best friend,
Someone I trusted with the very depths of my heart,
The very depths of my soul,
The very depths of my life,
And you always will that be that person,
The one that matters to me,
But there is nothing else I can do now,
I must let you go,
And let you fly on your own,
And do as you have wished,
So for now my dearest friend,
I am going to let you go,
But know you will always be important to me,
No matter where our lives might lead,
Lead from this moment on,
Because you were there when no one else was,
And you were there when I needed you,
And although it was me that caused this break,
I know that I will always care and love you,
For exactly who you are,
Because you are a wonderful person,
Who deserves the best this life could ever offer,
And I wish you the best,
As I let you go,
And hope that someday you will come back,
Come back to me,
And we can start anew.
