The Problems of Our World

There are so many problems out in the world today,

There are people who are homeless,

There are people who are disabled,

There are people without hope,

There are people without family,

There are people without faith,

There are people without dreams,

There are people without a belief in tomorrow,

There are people who are lost,

There are people who are hurting,

And so many who do not care,

There are so many problems out in the world today,

So many problems when we turn right and left,

Are we truly and fully grateful for what we have?

Are we truly and fully remembering how blessed we are?

There are countries out there without running water,

There are places out there without electricity,

There are places were many go without food,

There are many that go without health care,

People seem to just write it off even in this country,

Saying to just try this program or that program,

Not caring about the person,

Not caring or taking the time to understand,

Not realizing that the problem is deeper,

Deeper than the hurts,

Deeper than the pain,

Deeper than the strife,

Deeper,

Deeper than they could imagine,

We all should be humbled,

Those of us that can read this,

Because there are even some in the world today,

That goes without being able to read,

Something we believe so basic,

Something so simple,

That we do not realize how even simple,

Basic needs are not always met for every person,

On this blue planet of ours,

There are so many problems in this world of ours,

When are we going to truly understand?

When are we going to stop for a moment?

Realize that we need to take a stand?

Realize that we need to help others?

Realize that we should be helping our fellow brothers?

When are we going to put aside for a moment,

Those things that divide us?

Try to understand for a moment,

Help those that are hurting,

And start making a true change,

For the world?
