Rejection

There are so many of us out there,

That has been rejected,

Rejected for some reason or another,

Rejected due to our looks

Rejected due to our smarts,

Rejected due to our lack of smarts,

Rejected due to not being the jock or cheerleader,

Rejected due to not being creative enough,

Rejected due to not fitting in enough,

We fight through our lives,

Not quite fitting in one box or another,

There are so many unnamed people out there,

So many of us have been rejected,

At one point of time or another,

Some of us have found a way to rise above,

And some of us have had to struggle harder,

And some of us still struggle now,

Some of us struggle every single day,

Because we do not fit into a box well enough,

For society gain,

Because we choose to stay different,

We choose to stay beating to another drum,

We choose to stay being who we are,

Not wanting to be anything else,

We do not care if someone accepts us,

On the merit of our looks

We do not care if someone accepts us,

On the merit of our smarts,

We do not care if someone accepts us,

On the merit of if we are not smart enough,

We do not care if someone accepts us,

On the merit of not being popular enough,

We do not care if someone accepts us,

If we are not the right type of creative,

And not write or create the way someone believes we should,

But what these people seem to misunderstand,

But what these people seem to forget,

But what these people do not know,

That we are all people,

We are all someone,

We are still a person,

In the depths of our minds,

In the depths of the inner most of our heart,

In the depths of the inner most part of ourselves,

We all have emotions,

We all have feelings,

And it is time to take a stand,

We no longer will tolerate the bullies,

And we will no longer tolerate the rejection,

That is thrown every day of our lives,

We will rise above,

Rise above the hate,

Rise above the pain,

And stride to be stronger,

And stride to be a fighter,

And stride to show better compassion,

Than those before us,

Than those around us,

And stand for a better day.
